FAQs
Will I ask the model to shoot topless or nude?
While not a priority, I have an interest such work, but will never request
it from a model. Should they be interested, they may indicate so. This
includes male models as well.
What does TFCD mean? What do I charge?
TFCD = Trade For CD.
Neither party pays the other, both get image files that they can use in
portfolios and for other self-promotion.
Am I interested in shooting male models?
Absolutely! The absence of them in my portfolio merely reflects their
relative rarity. I am open to all levels of shooting with them.
What do I have in mind? When and where?
Details won't be known until dialogue begins with the potential model, after
which the shoot is designed around both of our portfolio needs and
interests.
Potential concepts include:
Swimsuit, lingerie, and "Daisy Duke" styles in natural, rural, and water
locations.
Casual styles with floral and botanical garden backgrounds.
Fashion styles in urban areas.
"Over-the-top" swimwear shoots using multiple "super soaker" and paintball
guns as props.
Retro-themed shoots at train depot museums and old-town areas in Katy,
Tomball, and any other places that they may exist.
Carnivals, both day and night.
Cars, motorcycles, and other vehicles, especially retro themes with classic
cars.
What I provide
A shoot of 2 to 3 hours duration that produces 200 to 400 images.
Various props. More info on request.
A "pop-up" changing room.
Post-processing of 25 to 30 images selected by the model and/or myself.
Password-protected online directory with preview gallery of all images no
later than the day after the shoot, followed by logo-less, web-sized
finished images. These are also included on the CD, and are deleted once it
is sent.
A CD with large and small finished images, all usable unprocessed images,
and the preview gallery.
Referrals to other photographers.
What I don't provide
Hair, makeup and MUA, unless a TFCD collaboration has been arranged. These
have been done in the past with MUA's listed in the Credits.
Wardrobe, as I do not have specific requirements and try to work with what
the model has available.
Transportation costs, as most shoots are local. For models that are further
out, I am willing to travel to a closer and familiar location if that would
facilitate working together.
Prints. Print-quality, high-resolution images are included on the CD, along
with smaller web-sized versions.
Escorts
It is has been my experience that the lack or presence of an escort alone
does not affect the outcome of a shoot. What is important is that the right
decision is made as far as whether to bring one and the right person chosen
for the task.
I do encourage escorts to take an active part in the shoot, most commonly
operating a reflector. This ensures better images as well as a more
meaningful experience for the escort.
Model cancellations
It is understood that models can have second thoughts after agreeing to a
shoot, and that unexpected events get in the way. All kinds of reasons for
canceling shoots are given, some truthful and some otherwise. Sometimes
communication ends abruptly for no apparent reason. When there has been a
break in communication, cancellation, or no-show, I will await a follow-up
from the model. If that is not forthcoming, it will be assumed that the
model is no longer interested in shooting.
Weather, location-related, and photographer cancellations
If the cancellation is due to weather, unforeseen location issues, or
brought about by me, I will follow-up promptly.
